Project Scope:
Colston Halls is a Grade II listed concert hall located in Bristol City Centre undergoing refurbishment to provide a regional centre for the National Performing Arts. Works consisted of asbestos removal, heritage reclamation, complex temporary works to facilitate internal structural remodelling of walls, floors, openings and roofs.
Project Constraints & Challenges:
- City centre location with restricting logistics and public and transport interfaces
- Bespoke designed temporary works for remodelling a Grade II listed building
- Third party principal contractor’s trades working within the concert hall
- Sensitive removal and working around heritage features
Achievements
- Seamless liaison and approval with conservation officer
- Major structural remodelling of Grade II listed building without incident
- Successful logistics collaboration in a severely restricted city centre site maintaining uninterrupted business operations for neighbours and the public
- Successful coordination and planning with other trades and work constraints with the principal contractor
