Project Duration: 16 weeks

Project Scope:

The high reach demolition of four stands of a steel frame construction with profiled metal decking forming composite floor slabs with precast concrete terracing followed by 70,000m3 of reduced level adjacent excavation and formation of the piling mat.

Project Constraints & Challenges:

  • Logistics of working in parallel with Mace on the construction of a new stadium immediately adjacent the demolition site
  • Live public interface with cantilevered stands over Park Lane footpath and highways with residential properties
  • Complex temporary structural support works with multiple duel crane lifts of roof structures
  • Mechanised high reach demolition using advanced D-Rig attachments
  • Critical cooperation planning between demolition activities, large scale bulk excavations and new stadium construction involving sectional completions and handovers to Mace

  • Project completed on programme in 16 weeks with early sectional completions
