Project Duration: Phase 1 18 weeks, Phase 2 30 weeks
Project Scope:
Asbestos Removal and demolition of numerous buildings on the Aircraft Braking Plant in Coventry.
Project Constraints & Challenges:
- Safe removal of notifiable hazardous waste
- Removal of contaminated waste to underground tanks
- Close proximity to live cables
- Party Wall negotiations, which included the appointment of a structural engineer and careful demolition works due to differing levels
- Careful hand demolition to northern wall to ensure protection of neighbouring owner’s buildings
Achievements
- Working close to private residencies without disruption or damage to property
- Protection of live gas mains during demolition
- Works completed on time and to budget
